We Study What Homeowners Actually Say.
Great Work Research analyzes customer reviews and market data to understand what actually creates trust, frustration and loyalty in home service and contractor businesses. No surveys. No opinions. Just what real customers wrote, at scale, in their own words.
This isn't theoretical. The same review analysis methodology already powers our Charlotte contractor directories, where we've scored 200+ companies against nearly 1,900 customer reviews.
Three Kinds of Research
Customer Experience Reports
Market-level looks at what customers say about a specific trade in a specific area - starting with pools and outdoor living.
What it tells you: Where the trust gaps are in your market before you ever pick up the phone with a prospect or a client.
Review Intelligence Studies
What patterns in 1-star and 5-star reviews actually reveal about communication, pricing and recovery.
What it tells you: Whether your problem is a service problem or a communication problem. Most owners assume the former. It's usually the latter.
Customer Language Reports
How homeowners naturally describe expertise, trust, value, communication, reliability and quality - in their own words, not marketing words.
What it tells you: The exact vocabulary to put on your website and in your sales calls, because it's language your prospects already use and trust.
Every Report Discloses Its Own Limitations
Transparency is part of the work, not a footnote. Every report we publish will disclose:
We won't call an observation a "benchmark" until the sample size and methodology actually support that claim.
If a stat can't survive us showing our work, we don't publish it.
Where We Are Right Now
We're building our first Customer Experience Report now and don't have a published report to share yet. Rather than publish something rushed or padded with unverified numbers, we'd rather tell you that directly.
The first report is drawing from our Charlotte outdoor living review corpus - currently 1,800+ reviews across 200+ companies - and covers what homeowners say about pricing transparency, communication during the project and how companies handle problems.
